Funding
SCMS is funded by The Saskatchewan Department of Justice, The Saskatchewan Department of Social Services, Youth for Youth through the Saskatoon Foundation, The City of Saskatoon, The Law Foundation of Saskatchewan, The Muttart Foundation, Community Mobilization Fund, James P. Mahoney Institute of the Family and the generous contributions of individuals.
We encourage supporters of mediation to become members of Saskatoon Community Mediation Services and receive our newsletter, The Bridge. Memberships cost $10.00 per year.
Fundraising needs:
Much of our work is funded by grants from government departments and from foundations.
Although part of our work is fee for service, in the latter case, we are often approached by people and organizations who require our services but cannot afford to pay for them. Individual donations from our members and supporters, plus fundraising projects, help us to serve those who cannot afford to pay for our conflict resolution services or for our training. We also need to raise money through individual donations and fundraising events to cover the cost of many of our public awareness and education programs.
